Nine people killed when truck collided with van returning from wedding in Rajasthan

Jaipur: At least nine people were killed on Saturday evening after a van carrying wedding guests collided with a speeding truck in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The accident took place in Panchola near Aklera when the victims were returning from a wedding in Khilchipur in Madhya Pradesh, police said.

Van returning from wedding hit by truck

“Nine people were killed in a road accident in Panchola, near Aklera, Jhalawar district. They were returning from a wedding procession in a van that collided with a truck,” Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Richa Tomar said. While three of the men were killed on the spot, six others died while being treated in hospital. The bodies of the victims have been sent to the police for post-mortem examination.

Driver arrested

The driver of the truck who fled after the incident was later arrested. Further investigations are underway, police said. This is a development story…
